Your donations make a world of difference
The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts: We have supported 6 students at PQA, where they learn drama, dance, musical theatre, film and TV. Five of these pupils performed at Her Majesty's Theatre in the West End of London and two have appeared in short films that were shown at the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square.
Students at PQA take part in Trinitiy Drama Exams; a recognised industry certification.
The Royal Ballet Birmingham: We paid for two children to attend specialist workshops at The Royal Ballet School in Birmingham and for costumes so that 2 other children could take part in a Rozie T Dance Academy performance.
Your donations paid for ballet pointes to help a child carry on with her lessons, helped to fund a new trumpet for a young lad who works relentlessly hard to do it all by himself and paid for drumming lessons for a local teenager.
We have also been able to fund cello, flute, piano and singing lessons...
...help towards the costs of putting on a show at Edingburgh Fringe Festival and towards a place at the National Youth Theatre Summer School and...
...help a very talented young opera singer continue with her MA studies.
Our School Support Scheme has paid for trips to the Pantomime and performances of Shakespeare; it has also funded the purchase of English text books to support over 150 students. From feedback, this extra and targeted support has produced excellent results amongst some of the most disadvantaged families in our area.
