Campden Rotary Burns Night Supper Raises £450 for Campden Edge
A good time was had by all at the Burns Supper organised by the Rotary club and the Cotswold House Hotel, held at the Hotel on Saturday 24th January. An auction and raffle resulted in £900 being divided between two local charities, Cotswold North Volunteers and Campden Edge.
The Chairman was Gary White, who addressed the Haggis and proposed the Toast to the Lassies. The Response from the Lassies was made by Keyna Doran, co founder of Campden Edge, a local charity, set up by Keyna and Vanessa Rigg of Creative Cows Campden Ltd and Bespoke Hotels to fund less advantaged young people in the locality (pictured receiving a cheque for £450 from Adrian Grimes, Rotary President).
The Toast to the Immortal Memory of Robert Burns was proposed by David Hallett and Brian MacDonald was the piper, playing before the meal and piping in the Haggis in traditional style. After dinner a short entertainment was led by Fiona Thurburn-Huelin and Chris Anderson.
